Live Cricket Score - India vs Sri Lanka, 1st T20

Chahal picked a wicket in each of his four overs \xa9 BCCI

Sri Lanka 87 all-out - India win by 93 runs!

That's that then! India have completed their highest T20I victory, largely thanks to Yuzvendra Chahal's four-fer and Kuldeep Yadav's two that deflated the visitors through the middle-overs, before Hardik Pandya wrapped up the innings. The day has also belonged to MS Dhoni, who scored vital runs down the order and completed four dismissals behind the stumps.

Sri Lanka slide downwards

They lost three wickets in quick succession! Chahal has four, Kuldeep has one and Sri Lanka have lost six for just 62 runs in 11.1 overs. It looks curtains for Sri Lanka!

WICKET - Chahal strikes again!

Angelo Mathews is gone! He has pushed at one with hard hands, and hit it straight back to Chahal. Sri Lanka 46 for 3 in 7.2 overs.

WICKET - Upul Tharanga falls after bright start

Excellent catch by MS Dhoni down the legside! Yuzvendra Chahal strikes with a poor ball that Tharanga could only nick down the leg, where Dhoni was there to pouch the ball. Sri Lanka 39/2 in 4.5 overs.

WICKET - Niroshan Dickwella goes

Maiden T20I wicket for Jaydev Unadkat! A well-disguised slower one has consumed the attacking left-hander, who failed to beat the packed infield on the offside. A simple catch to Rahul ended Dickwella's stay. Sri Lanka 15/1 in 1.4 overs.

India 180/3 in 20 overs

A vital partnership from MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey has pushed India to 180 at the end of their 20 overs. Sri Lanka had the chance to pull things back after KL Rahul's exit but 66 runs came off the last five overs to take the control away from the visitors. The fast bowlers did well to restrict the two batters with wide yorkers, but there were still many freebies in the form of length deliveries and full tosses that they could smash away.

WICKET - KL Rahul bowled!

Another slower one from Thisara Perera! Rahul didn't quite read it and looked to belt it away. He didn't get anywhere close to the ball and it crashed onto the stumps. Rahul goes for 61, India 112 for 3 in 14.3 overs.

WICKET - Shreyas Iyer dismissed for 24

India's No.3's short stay in the middle has ended. He looked to take on Dushmanta Chameera and made room, but ended up nicking his cut shot to the keeper. He goes with India on 101 for 2 in 12.4 overs.

Half-century for KL Rahul

The opener has found some runs afterall. Good timing, considering he has to fly to South Africa in a week's time. He needs these valuable runs. India 84 for 1 in 10 overs.

India 65/1 in 8 overs

KL Rahul gets a move on... finally. Gets two fours off Thisara Perera at a time when India need a forward push.

India 50/1 in 6 overs

Shreyas Iyer has walked out and got two early fours, the second off a slower one which he read very well. That also brought up India's half-century at the close of the batting powerplay. How much more can India get?

Wicket - Rohit Sharma dismissed for 17

Angelo Mathews has Rohit Sharma again. The Indian captain mistimed his attempt to go over mid-on, and Dushmanta Chameera takes a good, forward-diving catch.

India 31/0 in 4 over

Dhananjaya bowls his second, and does well until Rohit drives him brilliantly through extra cover. India aren't running away here, but the odd boundaries are still coming.

India 13/0 in 2 overs

Vishwa Fernando starts off with a couple of looseners that Rohit Sharma puts away. Interestingly, the Indian captain seems to be taking a step forward against the left-armer. Rohit hasn't had great success against this ilk of bowlers, and seems to be improvising. Ten come off the first over. Thisara Perera goes to Akila Dhananjaya in the second over, and understandably so, as dew already seems to be kicking in.

Debut time!

India include Jaydev Unadkat and KL Rahul for Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shikhar Dhawan. Nice to see two seniors get rest ahead of a big away series to South Africa.

Prelude - Opportunites galore for Indian tyros?

The biggest (and only?) advantage of playing a bilateral T20I series at a time when a World Cup in the format isn't around the corner, is that teams can try out youngsters who've made their way up the ranks. What else could be a healthy sign of a team's all-round progress? India have quite a few names that will hope to get on the playing XI - Basil Thampi, Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Jaydev Unakat and Mohammed Siraj. Not all might make it, and yet for those who do, the stakes will be incredibly high.
