Kerala Kings win inaugural T10 League title

SHARJAH (Dunya News) - Kerala Kings captain Eoin Morgan led his side from the front to beat Punjabi Legends by eight wickets with two overs to spare in the final to win the inaugural T10 Cricket League crown at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Kerala Kings won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Punjabi Legends scored 120 runs for the loss of three wickets with the help of an 83-run partnership between Luke Ronchi and Shoaib Malik.

Luke Ronchi scored 70 runs in 34 balls with five fours and five sixes while Shoaib Malik contributed 26 runs in 14 balls with one four and two towering sixes. Rayad Emrit and Plunkett got one wicket each for the Kerala Kings.

In reply, Kerala Kings reached the target for the loss of only two wickets with two overs to spare. Kerala captain Eoin Morgan played a swashbuckling knock of 63 runs studded with five fours and six sixes in just 21 balls.

Morgan shared a 113-run second wicket stand with Paul Stirling who remained not out after scoring 52 runs with the help of three 4s and five 6s in just 23 ball. Faheem Ashraf and Hassan Ali claimed one wicket apiece for Punjabi Legends.
